CREDAI Pune Signs MoU with BCA

Pune: CREDAI Pune has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BCA International Pte Ltd (BCAI), Singapore, to promote sustainable, innovative, and high-quality building practices in India. BCAI is a subsidiary of Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

The MoU was signed by Manish Jain, President of CREDAI Pune, and Heng Teck Thai, Executive Director of BCA International, during an official visit to Singapore.

The agreement comes as an 80-member delegation from CREDAI Pune’s International Business Forum (CIBF) visited Singapore to engage with developers, architects, policymakers, and government authorities.

CREDAI Pune Strengthens Global Collaboration

The delegation studied advanced practices in sustainable construction, urban development, and housing solutions for adoption in India.

Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Dr Shilpak Ambule, addressed the delegation, highlighting the growing interest of Singaporean companies in investing in India, particularly Pune, and assured support from the High Commission in fostering collaborations.

Key Focus Areas of the Partnership

The strategic partnership between CREDAI Pune and BCA International will cover multiple areas, including:

  • Green Certification: Supporting CREDAI members in obtaining BCA Green Mark certifications, advancing Super Low Energy Buildings (SLEB) and Net Zero targets.
  • Knowledge Exchange & Training: Organizing training programs, site visits, and sharing best practices in construction quality and green building standards.
  • Networking Opportunities: Facilitating collaboration through events like Singapore’s International Built Environment Week.
  • Technology Adoption: Encouraging partnerships between Singaporean firms and CREDAI members to implement smart and sustainable solutions in India.
  • Centre of Excellence: Backing CREDAI Pune in establishing a Centre of Excellence to promote advanced construction technologies.

Founded in 2013, the CREDAI International Business Forum (CIBF) was established to create global partnerships, promote knowledge exchange, and adopt cutting-edge practices for India’s real estate sector.

The 2025 Singapore study tour included interactions with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Housing and Development Board (HDB), Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and renowned architects.

Delegates explored innovations like prefabricated technology for faster construction, green integration for sustainability, smart zoning for improved urban livability, and advanced safety measures. These learnings are expected to help CREDAI Pune members integrate world-class methods into their projects.

The 2025 delegation was led by CREDAI Pune President Manish Jain, alongside Vice Presidents Arvind Jain, Nitin Nyati, and Vinod Chandwani, as well as CIBF Working Committee members.
